University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, College of Legal Studies, Dehradun has got one credit course on mediation for its 4th year students. The methodology adopted by the University is to teach students mediation through an interactive workshop including  various activities and Role Plays and evaluating the students based on their participation throughout the workshop.  Maadhyam is conducting  mediation workshop at the University campus through its trainers, Ms. Sadhana Ramachandran, Mr. J.P. Sengh, Ms. Veena Ralli, Ms. Neelam Rathore and Mr. Anuj Aggarwal.

The curriculum of mediation focuses on understanding conflict and dealing  with the same through communication by adopting various negotiation skills. The module of training is so much liked by  the students that approximately  2/3 of the total students opt for mediation and 1/3 go for arbitration, negotiation  and drafting of international contracts. Looking at the number of students opting for mediation, the workshop was conducted in two groups having approximately 145 students in each group. The challenge to keep each and every student involved in the workshop was well handled by the great coordination amongst the trainers.
