In Shri Arun Jaitley’s untimely death, Council for Conflict Resolution – Maadhyam lost a dependable friend, well-wisher and a senior professional, who could see and reach out beyond the walls of political and other organizational compulsions.
His staunch belief in resolving disputes and conflicts in the easiest ways of justice dispensation was always a support and encouragement to Maadhyam in its exploration of ways and means to bring mediation, arbitration and other conciliatory mechanisms to the benefit of all.
While rendering guidance and overseeing the enactment of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, he was very clear of its aftermaths and the need for modification and/or amendment of other allied branches of law. He was in full support for compulsory mediation before instituting commercial litigations. Before he could do his best, destiny snatched him away from us.
His life as a student leader, versatile lawyer, astute politician and above all a great troubleshooter, need no introduction. He was liked and loved by all who came in contact with him.
His eternal departure, that too quite early, is a loss to Maadhyam as much as it is to his family. May his soul rest in peace and may God give his family the strength to bear the loss. Our prayers are with them.
