mediation

When a dispute arises, you have a choice. You can fight  or you can talk. Maadhyam’s professional mediation service offers a faster, cheaper, and far more humane alternative to litigation. Confidential, voluntary, and led by certified senior mediators.

Understanding Mediation

What Is Mediation?

Mediation is a structured, voluntary process in which a neutral third party the mediator  helps disputing parties communicate, understand each other’s perspectives, and arrive at a mutually acceptable resolution.

Unlike a court or arbitration, the mediator does not decide the outcome. You do. This means the solution is crafted by the people who know the situation best and it is one both sides can live with.

At Maadhyam, our mediators are not just trained professionals. They are experienced, empathetic guides who create the conditions for honest dialogue  even in the most difficult disputes.

“The goal of mediation is not to find who is right. It is to find what works.”

How It Works

Reach Out

Contact Maadhyam by phone, email, or our online form. Tell us about your dispute — briefly and in confidence. Our intake team will assess your matter and recommend the right approach within 24 hours.

Mediator Assignment

We match you with the most appropriate mediator from our panel of 100+ senior professionals — based on the nature of the dispute, the parties involved, and any preferences you may have.

Pre-Mediation Consultation

Each party meets separately with the mediator before the joint session. This allows the mediator to understand each side’s position, concerns, and goals — and to prepare the ground for productive dialogue.

The Mediation Session

Parties meet — in person or online — in a structured, facilitated session. The mediator guides communication, ensures each voice is heard, and helps both parties move toward resolution. Sessions are private, confidential, and conducted at a pace that suits the parties.

Settlement & Agreement

When agreement is reached, the terms are documented in a formal Mediation Settlement Agreement — a legally recognised document under the Mediation Act 2023. If the matter is court-referred, the settlement can be made a decree of the court.

Post-Mediation Support

Our work does not end at settlement. We offer follow-up support to help parties implement agreements and address any questions that arise post-resolution.

Why Choose Mediation?

The Smarter Path to Resolution

India’s courts are overburdened. Litigation is expensive, exhausting, and often damaging — to relationships, reputations, and resources. Mediation offers everything litigation cannot: speed, privacy, control, and the possibility of walking away with your relationship intact. At Maadhyam, we have seen it work — 98% of the time.

Faster Resolution

What takes courts years takes mediation weeks — sometimes days. With Maadhyam’s structured process and experienced panel, most disputes reach settlement within 1–3 sessions. Your life does not have to wait.

Fraction of the Cost

Litigation costs can run into lakhs — before a verdict is even reached. Mediation at Maadhyam is professionally structured yet significantly more affordable, with transparent fee schedules and no hidden charges.

Completely Confidential

Unlike court proceedings — which are public record — everything said and shared in mediation is strictly confidential. No press. No public filings. No reputational risk. What happens at the table, stays at the table.

You Control the Outcome

In court, a judge decides. In mediation, you do. Both parties actively shape the resolution — which means the agreement reflects real needs, not just legal positions. Outcomes crafted together last longer and are honoured more willingly.

Relationships Preserved

Litigation creates winners and losers. Mediation creates solutions. Whether it is a business partnership, a family bond, or a professional relationship — mediation gives you the best chance of preserving what matters, even after a dispute.

Legally Recognized & Enforceable

Under the Mediation Act 2023, a mediated settlement agreement carries the force of a court decree. With Maadhyam’s ISO 9001-certified process, your resolution is not just amicable — it is legally sound and fully enforceable.
